Social Services

Adult Social Care and Health
Until 1st October 2006, services for Nottinghamshire people in need of care or support were the responsibility of the Social Services Department.

In the County Council's new structure these services are now managed by two new departments -
Adult Social Care and Health, and Children and Young People's Services.

Social Services can supply home aids such as hand rails, commodes, and stair lifts

They can also provide home care services such as daily visits to help you get up and go to bed, and even help cleaning your home.

You will be visited by a Social Worker who will draw up a Care Programme and arrange details of the visits.

You may also be assessed about how much (if anything) you may have to contribute (pay) towards the cost of the service

The initial Home Care visits are carried out by Social Services Carers.
After a few weeks they will be replaced with the same service ...
... but provided by a private health organisation.
