TransportThe difficulty of travelling to Out Patients appointments
obviously depends on the severity and extent of your stroke.
If you can't get to hospital on your own then it can be arranged for the
East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to collect you and, after your appointment,
take you home again.
Please note that the service is under a lot of pressure so you need to make allowances when they arrive late and
collect you late from hospital too!
On the other hand don't hesitate to complain if they get you in too late for an appointment,
or hours late getting you home!Car transport (via the WRVS) can be arranged via the
Physiotherapy Dept at QMC, but you must be able to walk and not need a wheelchair.
