On the 24th March 2004, "Fighting Stroke Together" took place in Nottingham City Hospital's Sherwood Hall.

The conference, organised by the Nottingham Stroke Forum (now @astroke), brought together Stroke survivors, carers, representatives of various groups and Health Care Professionals including Executives, Consultants, Doctors and others, with the objective of improving Nottinghamshire's 'Stroke care' both within hospitals and 'seamlessly' into the community.

The Conference was chaired by Margaret Goose, the then Chief Executive of the Stroke Association (who retired at the end of March 2004), who started proceedings with a run down of National progress with Stroke ....
